NASSP/Virco National Assistant Principal of the Year Program

NASSP/Virco National Assistant Principal of the Year Program

Congratulations to Courtney Voshell, winner of the 2014 NASSP/Virco National Assistant Principal of the Year Award!

About the Program
In 2004, NASSP and Virco partnered to applaud secondary school assistant principals in their dedication and success in school leadership. The NASSP/Virco National Assistant Principal of the Year program recognizes outstanding middle level and high school assistant principals who have demonstrated success in leadership, curriculum and personalization.

Selection Process
Each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense Education Activity select one assistant principal to represent their state. From these state winners, three finalists are named as contenders for the National Assistant Principal of the Year award.

The NASSP/Virco National Assistant Principal of the Year is selected from among the finalists, and receives a $5,000 grant.

Recognition
NASSP and Virco, Inc., honor all State Assistant Principals of the Year at a forum and awards banquet held each year in Washington, D.C. This event salutes assistant principals and provides an opportunity for them to share best practices and expertise with each other.
