As the nation’s leading advocate on behalf of school leaders, it is NASSP’s duty to bring the issues of the principalship to the halls of Congress, the U.S. Department of Education, the White House, and the national news media.
NASSP gives school leaders the information and resources they need to become effective advocates for their schools, their staff, and their students.
Together, NASSP and school leaders nationwide play a vital role in crafting federal, state, and district policies that support the achievement and success of every student.
Every day, legislators at the federal, state and district level are making decisions that impact your school and your students. It is critical that these decisions are informed by the experience and expertise of the nation’s school leaders. Make your voice heard and take action today!
Letters to Policymakers
To ensure that the voice of school leaders is heard in Washington, NASSP regularly submits letters to policymakers that address issues and legislation affecting federal education policy.
Additionally, the NASSP Board of Directors also regularly adopts position statements on a broad range of topics important to secondary school leaders. These position statements help guide the association's policy agenda and serve as a cornerstone for all of its interactions with policymakers. Read NASSP's board position statements.
