This advanced iPad training will emphasize the important role that school administrators play in blending the learning sciences with technology to create engaging, relevant, and personalized learning experiences.

The program will focus on the following:

  • Creating an electronic walkthrough observation template specific to your district
  • Using technology to lead and create professional learning networks
  • Learning how to design instruction to increase student engagement
  • Using social media to create a positive image of your school/district and much more.

Note: Participation in this workshop requires a functional knowledge of the iPad’s operations. Participants do not need to have been enrolled in NASSP’s basic iPad training.

Presenter: Sharon McCarthy is president of Envision Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in the areas of group dynamics, behavioral engineering, quality teaching and effective leadership.  In the past, under her leadership, McCarthy’s school was recognized twice by the Computer Learning Foundation as well as Apple’s Classrooms of Tomorrow.

Currently, McCarthy’s focus is on the juncture of the classroom, technology, and the world.  Educators walk away from her workshops with the skills to enable their schools’ classrooms to be centers of engaged participation. She is recognized for her depth of knowledge as well as her patience with diverse learners.

She has coauthored two books:
