Happy National Principals Month!

This month, NASSP, along with the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the American Federation of School Administrators, is proud to celebrate you in honor of National Principals Month. This is a time for students, teachers, and communities to show their appreciation for all the great work principals do. For ideas on how to celebrate, visit www.principalsmonth.org and be sure to use #ThankAPrincipal throughout the month of October on social media to tell us how your school is celebrating.

Live Stream our ESSA Event on Capitol Hill

As part of our National Principals Month celebration, you’re invited to tune in for “Revolutionizing School Leadership Under ESSA,” a joint event on Capitol Hill held October 13 from 1:00–2:00 p.m. (ET). As states and districts begin implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), it is important to understand how the law can provide unprecedented support for principals and other school leaders. This presentation will discuss both the policy and practitioner perspective on how to best support school leadership to improve student outcomes. For more information, visit www.principalsmonth.org.

Make Plans Now to Attend the First National Principals Conference

Next July 9–11 in Philadelphia, NASSP and the National Association of Elementary School Principals will hold the National Principals Conference-the first-ever joint conference for Pre-K through grade 12 school leaders—which will give you an unprecedented opportunity to engage in authentic conversations with a large pool of your peers. At the conference, you can expect programming that addresses your specific needs and challenges, as well as fresh solutions and connections that will last long after the conference.
