Despite the diligent work of school leaders and other educators, academic performance in high schools remains stagnant; achievement gaps exist along racial and economic lines; and low graduation rates and high dropout rates persist.
NASSP actively pursues high school reform strategies that engage principals to implement improvement at the school level through strong, visionary leadership. Our legislative and policy agenda offers high school reform recommendations for policymakers that specifically address the inequities and academic performance challenges experienced in high schools, with an understanding that schools will require support from policymakers, states, and their own communities in order to achieve reform goals.
