Student Programs

NASSP promotes the intellectual growth, academic achievement, and leadership development of students. NASSP is proud to have founded and administer four outstanding student leadership programs.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. Learn more about NHS here.

National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929. Learn more about NJHS here.

National Elementary Honor Society

The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) was established in 2008 by NASSP in cooperation with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) to recognize students in grades 4–6 for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated personal responsibility. NEHS provides the opportunity for young students to make a difference in their schools and communities. Learn more about NEHS here.

National Student Council

The National Student Council (NatStuCo) provides the most robust and trusted resources that enrich and support middle level and high school student councils. NatStuCo helps schools create the opportunity for students to become effective leaders, which helps to foster a positive school climate. Learn more about NatStuCo here.
