Deadline Approaching for Rynearson
The nomination deadline for the Rynearson National Adviser of the Year Award is coming up soon! Nominate your National Honor Society (NHS) or National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) adviser to honor their chapter management under extraordinary circumstances. During a difficult year, advisers across the nation have risen to the occasion to engage their students in leadership development, provide opportunities for remote and virtual service, and keep spirits high—no matter what their education environment looks like. One adviser each will be recognized from NHS and NJHS and will receive a $500 award and plaque of commemoration from NASSP. Visit www.nhs.us/rynearson or www.njhs.us/rynearson for the nomination form. But act soon—the deadline is February 14!

NSLW 2021: Leadership Unlimited
This year brought new challenges for student leaders as they worked to create positive climates and school cultures—even across varied learning environments. Celebrate their achievements during National Student Leadership Week (NSLW). Since its origin stemming from a U.S. presidential proclamation in 1972, NSLW brings a national celebration of students sponsored by NHS, NJHS, and National Student Council. This year’s theme, “Leadership Unlimited,” will highlight the boundless potential of the students who have stepped up as leaders within their schools and communities. Mark your calendar and join us April 18–24.

Save the Date: National Student Council Conference
The 2021 National Student Council Conference will bring together student councils from around the nation to sharpen their leadership skills and build peer networks. Students and advisers will celebrate the theme “Student Leaders Making History” on June 23–25 and take part in three monumental days of captivating speakers, peer workshops, and lifelong leadership training. Encourage your student council members to make their mark on history. Learn more at www.NatStuCoConference.org.
