Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
Some are fighting hunger in their local communities. Others created programs that encourage young women to consider STEM careers. Many are working to support the mental health and emotional well-being of their peers.
These are just some of the stories of the young volunteers named 2018 State Honorees and Distinguished Finalists by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. The awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial in partnership with NASSP, honor students in grades 5-12 for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service.
The 102 State Honorees – the top middle level and high school volunteer from each state and the District of Columbia – will each receive $1,000, an engraved silver medallion and an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C. in late April for four days of national recognition events. The 234 Distinguished Finalists receive engraved bronze medallions.
Since 1995, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards has honored more than 120,000 young volunteers on the local, state and national level. To read the stories of the 2018 State Honorees and Distinguished Finalists, visit https://spirit.prudential.com/honorees/state.
