Originally planned as part of the 2020 Advocacy Conference prior to its rescheduling, NASSP’s Policy and Advocacy Center is now hosting this “breakout session” as a webinar to provide you with a virtual learning opportunity. This is just one of the ways NASSP will continue to support you and your community during these uncertain times.

The majority of policy for our nation’s schools is made at the state level. This webinar will discuss specific advocacy tactics and strategies for influencing state lawmakers to help ensure school leaders have a voice in their state legislatures. Topics will include coalition building, how to set up a state Hill Day, and ideas for contacting your state representatives. Expert presenters will share their success stories from several marquee legislative victories in recent years and explain how the lessons they learned can be applied in your state.
