NASSP believes that each student should acquire a body of essential knowledge and skills that enable them to be ready for college or career. Because of this belief, NASSP supported the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) initiative and the development of formative and summative assessments that are aligned to common college- and career-ready standards in mathematics, English language arts, social studies, science, and technical subjects. NASSP released a new policy brief on college and career ready standards in 2013 with specific recommendations for policymakers at the federal, state, and district levels. Read a summary in the official press release, or click the image below to view the brief in full.
