RESTON, VA—The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) issued the following statement on President Biden’s FY 2024 budget proposal:

“This budget request is a major step to address the critical issues facing our schools today, including the student mental health crisis and growing national school leader and educator shortages,” said NASSP CEO Ronn Nozoe. “School leaders have been burning the candle at both ends to support students’ academic and social development, and it’s great to see that President Biden has their backs. We look forward to working with the Administration and Congress to increase education funding so every school leader has the tools they need to give their kids an excellent education.”

On March 29, nearly 400 elementary and secondary school leaders from all 50 states will gather in the Capitol to ask their representatives and senators to invest in the educator pipeline, professional development, mental health services, school safety and more.
