NHS Scholarship Application Process Opens October 1

National Honor Society has awarded more than $14 million in scholarships since its inception in 1946, and the organization will award $2 million more this year alone. Administered by NASSP, the NHS Scholarship rewards the most remarkable students for their service, leadership, and character. With the scholarship funds distributed among semifinalists, finalists, and one national winner (who could win $25,000), this coveted scholarship could potentially go to one of your deserving students. To increase the odds that it does, make sure your highest achievers not only complete their portion of the application by the deadline of December 7, but submit all three required recommendations—one each from the adviser, principal, and a teacher—by December 14 to be eligible.

Registration Open for 2019 NASSP Advocacy Conference

You can now register for the 2019 NASSP Advocacy Conference, held in Washington, D.C., March 18–20. At the Advocacy Conference, school leaders have the opportunity to take part in hands-on training and learn how to better advocate for their schools, students, and profession. Attendees will hear from education policy experts; network with fellow school leaders; and participate in a Capitol Hill Day, during which they meet with their respective members of Congress.

New this year: Registration is open to any advocate who has signed up in the Policy & Advocacy Center, and there is no registration fee to attend (although you must cover your own hotel and travel expenses). Find out more information and register at www.nassp.org/advocacyconf.
